By Eli Martinez
I know it has been a while since we have updated you all on our promotional trailer. So much has been happening here that it has been hard to sit down and write in our film journal. We received the first draft of our promo, and it is really good. I can safely say, that our show is going to blow people’s minds. At least our trailer will. We broke all the rules when it comes to how traditional shark documentaries have been shown. The film is fast, the music is hard, and it is a lot of fun. It was also a lot of fun to make.
The music we chose for our film is from a rock band called Short Bus. The drummer for the band is one of your fellow SDM readers, Mark Sita, who has traveled with us on a few of our shark diving adventures. Anyway, we’re out in North Carolina and Mark says, “hey Eli, check out my band man.” The rest is history. The song on the trailer is awesome, it fits the films mood and speed very well. We are hoping to have the trailer online for you all to view by the end of April.
Andy went back home to Canada and left me here to finish up all the details for the show. He is working on a few things over there for us. Securing the equipment we are going to use on the show, as well as helping to plan out some of our shooting schedule. I will be flying out to LA sometime in mid April to meet with a production company that is interested in working with us on this project. They have already seen our trailer and want to discuss things further. We’ll see how it goes…
Next journal entry… Our finished product, what we think.
